Senior Compensation Analyst

The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing and managing compensation plans and programs that successfully attract, reward, engage and retain top talent. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, this individual will work on global compensation projects and initiatives and partner closely with key stakeholders within and outside of the People team.
What You’ll Do: Design and execute DigitalOcean’s compensation philosophy across all programs (merit, promotion, bonus, equity) Lead all aspects of the compensation and promotion review cycle(s) including market analysis, budget and data preparation, systems configuration/implementation, training, communication, and supporting the People Business Partners Serve as a Compensation Subject Matter Expert by providing consultation and guidance to People Business Partners, Recruiters and Managers on compensation matters ranging from simple to very complex, and by mentoring junior compensation team members Conduct job analysis, job evaluation and review of new and/or existing roles to ensure they are aligned with the appropriate job code Participate in compensation benchmark and trend surveys, complete global market benchmarking and build/maintain pay ranges Provide compensation recommendations, and approval when applicable, for offers, promotions, transfers, special bonuses and equity in accordance with compensation guidelines and policies Evaluate market trends and identify how they impact the company’s compensation approach and programs Understand relevant compensation laws and regulations globally and define their impact to DigitalOcean Develop and deliver training materials to inform recruiters, People Business Partners, and managers about DigitalOcean’s compensation philosophy and programs Prepare ad hoc analysis to support leadership in strategic decisions Manage and resolve incoming compensation questions and audit system data pertaining to all compensation programs and eligibility for incentive program payouts Identify and lead compensation-related process, tool, and system improvement projects What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, economics or related field 5+ years of progressive direct compensation experience required, preferably working in a global company Compensation certification preferred (CCP, GRP, SHRM-CP, CIPD, etc.) Extensive quantitative/analytical skills including the ability to translate data into insights Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google sheets and proficiency in other Microsoft/Google applications (docs, slides, etc.) Excellent detail-orientation, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data Deep knowledge of compensation best practices, market trends and regulatory requirements Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of leadership and tailor communication to different audience types Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to see matters through to resolution Collaborative, influential and proactive Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth, dynamic business environment Experience with compensation modules in HR systems, preferably Workday Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean We innovate with purpose. While the philosophy around our benefits is the same worldwide, specific benefits may vary based on local regulations and preferences. We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
