Job Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Composite Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace and structural analysis, with extensive experience in the design and analysis of composite materials and structures. This role will involve leading the design and development of advanced composite components and systems, ensuring they meet rigorous aerospace standards and performance criteria.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of composite aerospace structures and components from concept through production.Perform detailed structural analysis and optimization of composite materials and structures using advanced simulation tools and methodologies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and testing, to ensure design integrity and performance.Develop and maintain design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, specifications, and reports.Conduct failure analysis and provide solutions to improve the performance and reliability of composite structures.Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and expertise in composite design and analysis.Stay current with industry trends, advancements in composite materials, and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations throughout the design and development process.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 8 years of experience in composite design and structural analysis, preferably in the aerospace industry.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools (e.g., Abaqus, NASTRAN).Strong understanding of composite materials, manufacturing processes, and structural behavior.Proven experience in leading complex design projects and delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA) is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:Experience with composite repair and maintenance practices.Familiarity with aerospace certification processes and documentation.Advanced knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques, such as autoclave curing, resin transfer molding (RTM), and filament winding.Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
