Salary: $80,000 Minimum Bargaining Unit ( click here (https://www.greececsd.org/Page/531) for contracts): GUSS Contract Report Times: 7:00am - 3:30pm Daily Hours: 8.5 (7.5 Paid) Work Year: 52 weeks Supervisor: Asst Supt Student Ach & Accountability Civil Service Title: Senior Computer Application Specialist Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER: (A) Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or an Information Technology related field; OR, (B) Graduation with an Associate’s degree as defined in (A) above, plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in developing or maintaining database applications on micro-computers; OR, (C) Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (B) above; OR, (D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: If you are appointed, you will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job. Desired Qualifications: In depth understanding of data flow among source systems; Experience in project management, including the ability to deploy resources and manage multiple projects; Experience utilizing student Information systems and data warehouse systems; Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to understand flow and communicate data security regulations and best practices; Attention to detail and quality ; Collaborative team player. Position Summary/Responsibilities: Provides expertise and support for for administration of systems such as NYSED Data warehouse and Student Management systems; Ensures integrity and consistency of all district student data and their corresponding systems for NYSED SIRS and NYSED Student Data Security Policies; Provides expertise and support for the Student Information System regarding data needs, system functions, training and maintenance; Knowledge and/or experience working with the Student Information Repository System (SIRS) and NYSED reporting systems as well as system functions, training and maintenance; Coordinates reports submitted to NYSED, including but not limited to BEDS Data, NYS School Report card data and State assessment results; Provides support to directors, coordinators, school administrators on collection of data and ensures accuracy for NYSED SIRS; Oversight of Data warehouse functions associated with Monroe 1, Monroe 2 and NYSED SIRS ( as well as oversight of Level 0, Level 1 and Level 2, SEDDAS) and services as a liaison to NYSED and BOCES; Reviews multiple management systems for validation, alignment and consistency; Oversight of Data Management Team to support and facilitate workflow and process; Oversight of Registration Department, coordinating the central registration process including registering and withdrawing students' Trouble-shoots, problem solves, tests and validates solutions prior to implementation of systems; Determination of data systems that serve as the source system for required data elements; Communication link between District office departments, building administration and clerical staff to ensure student data procedures are followed; Other duties as assigned.
