DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Engineer with successful construction inspection and project management experience to join our Little Rock, AR office. This position is responsible for serving as a resident engineer managing highway construction projects for ARDOT and/or other central Arkansas clients, managing and scheduling inspection and material testing staff.  The position requires preparing reports and supporting documentation in accordance with project requirements.  Duties include contract administration and working primarily from field offices with client personnel.  The position coordinates with technicians to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation and assists in the preparation of scopes, budgets, and schedule of assignments.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a hard-working, detail-oriented, and team-based attitude.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field Professional Engineer in the State of Arkansas, or able to obtain within 3 months. 15+ years’ experience in the construction management of highway projects, preferably experience with ARDOT construction projects. Knowledge of ARDOT construction and administration procedures Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing Ability to review and provide input on contractors’ construction schedules.
