CEIS | Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer (Mechanical) to support large-scale industrial and nuclear construction projects. This role focuses on mechanical systems installation, testing, and operational turnover, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, scheduling, and cost objectives. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, procurement, security, safety, and operations teams to oversee the successful execution of mechanical construction activities.
Responsibilities: Provide engineering support to superintendents and craft teams, ensuring mechanical materials, equipment, and workmanship meet design and industry standards. Oversee mechanical construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, budget, and scheduling requirements. Coordinate with design, procurement, security, safety, operations, health physics, and quality control teams to ensure smooth project execution. Develop mechanical system turnover packages, ensuring system completion and pre-operational testing align with project milestones. Support system testing and operations, ensuring that mechanical systems are fully functional before turnover. Develop and maintain work packages, ensuring craft teams understand specific requirements. Coordinate with design agencies to facilitate timely issuance of new designs or revisions. Lead constructability programs, providing technical expertise for mechanical construction methods and practices. Ensure mechanical construction activities are completed accurately and efficiently, resolving any technical issues as they arise. Provide technical direction and mentorship to subordinate construction engineering personnel. Support mechanical system testing and startup services, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with specifications. Manage subcontract administration, ensuring compliance with contract specifications. Assist in establishing maintenance requirements for permanent mechanical equipment. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 5-7 years of construction engineering experience OR Associate’s degree with 7-9 years of relevant experience OR High school diploma with 10-14 years of practical experience. General knowledge of mechanical system testing and operations to support pre-operational testing and system turnover. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance (an active clearance is not initially required). Preferred: Leadership training in methods improvement. Minimum of 5 years of commercial nuclear construction experience. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
