Senior Construction Manager

Role description:

As a Senior Construction Manager, you will ensure projects adhere to client requirements and business goals by developing and driving project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating activities within the established project timelines set forth by the Project Manager.  Your responsibilities will span all project phases: planning, design/preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Role accountabilities:

Day-to-day management of on-site construction and handover activities in cooperation with the Project Manager, providing administration of project construction contracts. Coordinating the work of contractors and all city, state, and utility agencies and inspecting authorities. Ensuring all appropriate technical standards are applied during the project. Ensuring contractors schedule, conduct, and document all construction meetings including construction progress meetings, safety meetings, and inspections including distributing minutes of the meetings. Coordinating application for and approval of permits and approvals required for the project. Reviewing submittals for conformance with contract documents. Clarifying and coordinating technical RFIs when required. Coordinating design reviews and approvals between owner and contractors. Managing work to follow state, local, and Federal requirements. Tracking and reporting progress and updating the project schedule and costs with the Project Manager. Validating all (interim) payment requests from the General Contractor and all owner subcontractors. Reviewing contractors’ site-specific health and safety plan and verifying all safety programs align to and are consistent with Arcadis and the owner’s health and safety requirements. Monitoring contractor adherence to safety standards and approved plans. Maintaining accurate project files, meetings records and correspondence. Verifying contractors provide all applicable certificates of insurance prior to any work being performed. Providing detailed daily progress reports and photos including manpower, work performed, material deliveries, and weather or safety incidents. Reviewing testing and commissioning reports to ensure results are compliant with contract requirements. Supporting the owner’s commissioning agent in final testing and commissioning of the Project. Ensuring contractors coordinate all inspections and obtain final agency inspections, TCOs, and COs. Supporting the owner in coordinating all required operational training. Supporting the owner in the contract close-out procedures including organizing the receipt of as-built documents, warranties, guarantees, O&M manuals, and training material from the contractors

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. 10 years of construction management experience.

  Preferred Qualifications: 

Professional accreditation (PE, AIA, CCM, CPC, PMP, LEED).

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
