Senior Construction Project Manager

The primary duties of the Senior Construction Project Manager are to assist in pursuing projects with various public agencies and once contracts are underway to technically and administratively represent a project owner throughout construction on a variety of public and quasi-public infrastructure projects.

As Senior Construction Project Manager, responsibilities include managing inhouse and sub-consultant (testing, surveying, and other technical service providers) contracts and staff and perform as point person for construction contract oversight. Additional responsibilities include business development activities with clients to assist with the growth of the Southern California Water construction management program and marketing of HDR services to existing and potential clients and teaming partners. Working with supervision and support from senior HDR staff, this person will supervise and direct the activities of the field teams on either large projects or several projects spread throughout the Southern California and maintain healthy relationships with the client and all oversight organizations. The position requires a fundamental understanding of public and private contracts, familiarity with codes and laws governing construction and strong technical skills directly applicable to the type of construction underway.

The Senior Construction Project Manager will work on projects that may include water treatment and wastewater treatment projects and related pipelines, pump stations, and conveyance systems

Preferred QualificationsA P.E. License (or the ability to attain within 1 year)Minimum of 10 years of construction related experience in water treatment, waste water treatment, or related water projectsSuccessful business development track recordSouthern California experience is preferredThis position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with HDR's vehicle policy.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 10 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including but not limited to construction contracts; document, time, cost, and quality management; change management; and site safety. estimating, bidding, preparing and administering purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, cost control, etc. Experience with Microsoft Office Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc. Must have strong people skills and the ability to interact with the Owner, Engineer, Contractor and other project stakeholders An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
