ERM is seeking a Senior Consultant for its Private Markets ESG & Impact Value Creation team. This role is ideal for professionals with 3-5 years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting who are passionate about sustainability and eager to apply their strategic skills to ESG and impact initiatives for private equity and infrastructure investors. This position can be based in any of our North American offices: Manhattan, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, or Houston.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have a strong background in strategy consulting, with expertise in market analysis, customer insights, pricing optimization, financial modeling, and/or quantifying top and bottom-line growth initiatives. Your experience will help clients integrate ESG considerations into their business strategies, driving sustainable value creation across their portfolio companies.
Role Responsibilities
Client and Project Leadership
Strategic ESG Advisory: Lead the development and implementation of ESG and impact strategies that drive competitive advantage and long-term value.Market Analysis and Customer Insights: Conduct comprehensive market studies to identify sustainability trends, customer behaviors, and emerging opportunities.Pricing Optimization: Develop pricing strategies that align with ESG value propositions and enhance market positioning.Financial Modeling: Build and analyze complex financial models to quantify the impact of ESG initiatives on revenue growth and profitability.Growth Initiatives: Identify and evaluate top and bottom-line growth opportunities related to sustainability, providing actionable recommendations.Client Engagement: Collaborate with investment and operating teams of private equity firms and portfolio company management to integrate ESG into business models and strategic planning.Presentations and Workshops: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to executive audiences, effectively communicating complex ESG concepts and strategic recommendations.Team Leadership and Collaboration
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with ERM’s global network of sustainability experts to deliver integrated solutions.Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.Client Relationship Management: Support ERM leadership in strengthening client relationships through exceptional service delivery and thought leadership.Required Skills and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Sustainability, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA or similar) is preferred.Experience: 2-5 years of experience in strategy consulting, focusing on strategy development, market analysis, and financial modeling.Skill Set:Advanced PowerPoint storytelling skills, Excel modelling a plus.Experience developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive growth and value. Familiarity with private equity and infrastructure investing.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and present complex ideas.Experience with ESG and sustainability concepts and related financial implications, and a passion for integrating these into business strategy to drive investment outcomes.Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis a plus to develop actionable insights from data.Industry Knowledge: Experience in industries such as technology, healthcare, infrastructure, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, business services, or manufacturing.Personal Attributes: Proactive, results-oriented, and adaptable, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work, collaboration, and passion for sustainability.For the Consultant, ESG & Impact Post-Investment Value Creation position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $82,000 – $89,969 (USD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
