Role/Department
 

The Global Fund Services business is one of the fastest growing areas in Northern Trust, offering a comprehensive suite of fund products and services to Asset Managers worldwide. A Senior Consultant is principally responsible for ensuring the best Governance & control environment for the department by owning and optimising all elements of controls ensuring the department adheres to all standards, tracking and reporting of their findings

The key responsibilities of the role include:
 

To adhere to the departments governance strategy in line with corporate & regulatory standards.To liaise professionally with Internal departments, Trustees/Depositaries, Custodians, Auditors, and attend clients due diligences, providing clear succinct overviews of the departments risk, resiliency and governance framework.Run and own the departments Risk monitoring Meeting, including risk review mgt, incident mgt and Incident reviews for effectiveness of remedial actions.To assist IT, Risk and Operational resiliency teams in sharing information and best practices while also providing local support to managers as they perform their Access Rights 1st Line of Defense responsibilities.Manage the deliverables required to be fulfilled for the RRO team and ASRO team on behalf of the department, through to completion through effective coordination and escalation if necessary.  Business Continuity Planning (BCP) assistance for UKFA ensuring all annual commitments set by GBCRs are met and all policies are up to date including the any operational changes.Responsible for the coordination and completion of all disaster recovery and transfer of work testing events. This involves coordination between outsourced jurisdictions to ensure testing, training, Table Top exercises are scheduled and implemented with minimal disruption to the business.Plan owner in Fusion required to document the resiliency strategies, along with testing results and any changes made to the Operational resiliency Framework in a timely manner. Represent UKFA in any Asset Servicing Resiliency Office (ASRO) events, to include closure of any after report actions.Build & maintain relationships with GFS Regulator Risk Office (RRO) Create and manage testing plans based on incident trend analysis. Oversee testing partners output and collate and present findings to management for review.Oversee the oversight due diligence of the outsources locations and ensure completion of any outstanding action points following these discussions. Pro-active engagement and partnership across all geographic regions and offices. Building relationships to continuously improve understanding of requirements and expectations on UK Fund Accounting.Recognise / promote / communicate / reward within the operational teamsAs required support & lead for UK Fund Accounting Department wide initiatives to help the department meet the Corporate Priorities.Involvement in projects, on occasion taking the lead and implementing new processes to help the team/business increase productivity. This could be small client change requests or department change.
