What the day will look like
An exciting opportunity exists with Aon’s Risk Consulting team, focusing on Natural Catastrophe Analysis as a Senior Consultant based in Sydney, Australia. This role will be seated within the highly successful Aon Consulting division within our Commercial Risk Solutions practice.
Reporting to the Principal Risk Consultant, you will provide consultative advice and recommendations on Natural Peril and Climate risk analysis to clients. In this role you will be responsible for providing high quality support to a small team of consultants and to a variety of clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
+ Undertaking natural peril risk analytics and quantification, coupled with future climate scenario analysis.
+ Working alongside senior colleagues, your work will involve supporting them in every aspect of their projects, learning about risk and insurance, and developing your skills to take on incrementally more responsibility over time.
+ Assist with the maintaining and building relationships with internal Aon teams, external clients and representing Risk Management Consulting at functions.
+ Data Analytics, including working on issues of diverse scope and developing conclusions from analyses, and applying results to the organisation’s business operations
+ Report Writing
Role Complexity: Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors. Able to develop conclusions from analyses and apply results to the organization’s business operations. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Discretion: Decisions normally have impact on the functional area and on clients and/or other parts of the company. Decisions are typically guided by functional practices, management precedents and professional standards. Interaction: Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Uses knowledge to provide consultative advice and recommendations within specific functional areas. Supervision/Leadership: Operates independently and with initiative according to established standards and principles. May manage, supervise or provide support, guidance and training to others. Competencies, Knowledge and Experience: Typically possess demonstrable business experience (or equivalent), as well as in-depth knowledge of a functional area.

+ Advanced Microsoft office competency with ability to learn new software packages swiftly
+ Intermediate SQL - Advantage, not essential
+ Polished presentation with a client-focused approach to your work, bolstered with exceptional communication (written and oral) skills
+ Strong time management and organisational skills
+ Commercially-minded and numerically astute
+ Geographical Information Systems (ArcGIS or similar) – Advantage, not essential.
