Senior Consultant Legislative Communications

What You Will Do:

·       Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives – supporting them in developing responding to external stakeholders

·       Manage significant client engagements and day-to-day relationships

·       Creating, editing, and collaborating presentations, talking points, responses to inquiries, reports, and other products needed for external stakeholders

·       Assist with preparation for hearings, briefings, and other events were clients are engaged

·       Regularly engage with executives and staff to collaboratively create strategies that will inform external stakeholders

·       Create and maintain tracking tools and techniques to ensure timely engagement with external stakeholders

·       Regularly engage with staff from various communications offices on content, tactics, and strategy

·       Regularly engage with clients involved with logistics of external engagements

·       Regularly engage with the Guidehouse subject matter experts on a variety of healthcare topics

·       Actively support business development activities to help identify, research, and pursue opportunities for new/existing clients

·       Keep current on healthcare industry trends to inform clients on leading practices


What You Will Need:

·       Ability to translate technical information and data into a story that is visually appealing and able to capture and persuade a variety of audiences utilizing Powerpoint

·       Minimum Bachelor’s Degree

·       3-5+ years of previous work experience in a consulting firm, on capital hill, or in a communications or congressional affairs role

·       Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality deliverables under stressful conditions

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of business, including experience writing reports and client/public-facing documents as well as effectively communicating complex concepts

·       Experience working in or consulting with the Department of Veterans Affairs or Military Health System

·       Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and develop successful professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

·       Ability to create clear and compelling presentations for clients on complex topics

·       Unmatched organizational skills in a dynamic environment

·       Demonstrated passion for improving healthcare

·       Master’s Degree
