Senior Consultant - Quantitative Modeler – Commercial Financial Services

What You Will Do:

Build/assess/enhance Model Risk Management (MRM) policies for commercial/regional banks and perform gap analysis.Manage and lead validations of vendor and internally developed bank risk models (such as CECL, Asset/Liability Management) compliant with Model Risk Management policies and procedures, regulatory guidance, and industry leading practices.Present model validation findings to clients and propose appropriate remedial actions.Perform fair lending/banking assessment by analyzing clients’ data, and build. benchmark datasets to evaluate any disparate treatment/impact in clients’ origination, servicing, marketing decisions.Assess AI/ML frameworks and solutions, and perform comparative analysis to evaluate fairness, interpretability, and explainability.Apply race/ethnicity estimation methodologies (BISG) to user level-data to perform evaluation of clients’ data against regulatory expectations.Build relationships within and across multiple segments, aligning conflicting priorities and resolving issues to achieve progress.


What You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, data science, statistics, or related field.Minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience.Currently reside in the DMV area or willing to relocate there at own expense.Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as SR 11-7, and industry standards related to Model Risk Management.Proficiency with at least one statistical analytic tool such as R, Python, or SAS and quantitative modeling techniques, statistical analysis, and machine learning methodologies.Ability to apply academic research to econometric and modelling issues and present concise explanations of output.Experience drafting reports on various economic and financial topics for internal and external audiences.Intellectual curiosity and willingness to explore how compliance and risk management impacts banks and non-bank financial institutions.Ability to work with in a team with varying skill and knowledge levels.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

Master’s degree.Certifications such as CFA, FRM.
