Description The Sr Consumer Credit Underwriter is responsible for the highest level of consumer loan underwriting expertise within the bank. This role ensures the accurate analysis and assessment of consumer loan applications in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines. The position requires an in-depth understanding of all consumer loan products, policies, and underwriting procedures, including Private Bank consumer loans. Additionally, this role provides leadership in training and coaching lower-level underwriters and supports process improvements to enhance underwriting efficiency. + Possesses expert knowledge of consumer loan products, policies, and procedures, including general consumer and Private Bank consumer loans. + Underwrites and approves consumer loans in accordance with Consumer Credit Policy and Guidelines, making rate and policy exceptions within assigned lending authority. + Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and monitors lower-level underwriters’ activities to uphold departmental compliance. + Provides guidance and support to bankers, Private Bank, and Loan Processing teams to facilitate efficient and complete loan applications. + Analyzes complex personal/business income tax returns and personal financial statements to determine loan eligibility. Reviews and assesses documentation provided by borrowers and external entities. + Serves as a key resource for internal and external customer inquiries, responding in a timely and professional manner. Skills & Qualifications Thorough knowledge of consumer lending and regulatory issues is a plus. Experience with credit scoring, automated application, and underwriting systems is preferred. Expertise in consumer lending document preparation and closing requirements is preferred. 7+ years of consumer loan/consumer experience preferred. Experience with Meridian Link and/or FiServ software Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hr.
