Senior Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description The Controls role requires a high-level engineer capable of writing code and creating electrical designs from scratch, as well as leading a small team of Controls Engineers and managing projects with customers. The company is currently transitioning from outsourcing all controls work to bringing it in-house to reduce costs and improve customer experience. They are partnered with a large material handling company and are projected to expand their Controls team significantly in the next year or two. Responsibilities + Write code from scratch for control systems. + Create electrical designs from scratch. + Lead and mentor a small team of Controls Engineers. + Manage projects and interface with customers. + Collaborate with the Mechanical team, including designers, project managers, and shop floor staff. + Travel up to 30% of the time to customer sites across North America and Mexico (passport required). + Complete expense reports and manage travel-related expenses. Must Have Qualifications + PLC programming from scratch, with proficiency in at least two of the following: AB, Siemens, Omron, Rockwell, Mitsubishi. + Electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical. + Ability to mentor and lead a team. + Strong customer interface skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications (nice to have) + Robotics experience, preferably as a certified integrator for Yaskawa and Fanuc. + Familiarity with Kawasaki, Omron, and ABB robotics. + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME). Work Environment The work environment includes a flexible schedule with typical hours from 8 AM to 5 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM, and an average of 5 hours of overtime. Work-from-home availability is provided as needed. The office space is currently being updated, with cubicles and personal space. 30% Travel Approximately - all travel-related expenses, including per diem, car rentals, flights, and hotels, are covered by the company.
