Senior Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

The Controls Engineer will be hands-on as well as operate in a management-level role. This position involves working directly with the Engineering Manager and one other Controls Engineer, as well as managing a team of four Control Technicians and Maintenance Technicians.

ResponsibilitiesDirect and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Controls Department, including scheduling adequate personnel and employee work orders.Coordinate with Plant Management and the Maintenance Department to establish maintenance schedules for various electrical components of the facility to minimize production downtime.Provide feedback to Plant Management regarding the status of various projects, work orders, and manufacturing procedures as needed.Diagnose electric motor failures.Use Digital Multi-Meters and electrical prints.Troubleshoot and diagnose control circuitry.Drive and participate in improvement projects.Install, program, inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust electrical devices and equipment, instrumentation, and related controls hardware.Review, modify, and create CAD drawings and any other controls-related documentation.Essential Skills5+ years of PLC programming experience utilizing Rockwell and/or Siemens controllers.Project Management experience.Experience with Controls, Manufacturing, and SCADA MES systems, as well as setting up systems that communicate via OPC.Experience implementing shop floor automation, manufacturing execution systems, and shop floor networks.Comprehensive programming experience including HMI, RFID, and PanelView.Networking experience with Ethernet, DeviceNET, and Remote I/O devices.Additional Skills & QualificationsFood and Beverage experience.Machine Building experience.ARC Flash Certification.Work Environment

Work is performed indoors in a manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required. The environment is clean and climate controlled. Equipment used includes new machinery. The Controls Engineer will work alongside the Engineering Manager and one other Controls Engineer, managing a team of four Control Technicians. The position is a consistent Monday-Friday role with minimal overtime and no travel. The consultant will be provided 40 hours of PTO and 6 paid holidays through the contract duration.
