JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Applies generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information, reconcile financial statements, prepare general and standard journal entries, assist in budget development, and prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Prepare journal entries to record revenue, expense reclasses, accruals and various other adjustments to the general ledger.

2. Review incoming intercompany transactions for proper coding and prepare outgoing intercompany transactions for approval.

3. Analyze general ledger activity and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a daily/weekly basis.

4. Prepare monthly revenue analysis and provide detailed commentary for budget variances.

5. Oversee staff accountant responsibilities and assist with reviewing journal entries, reconciliations and reports as needed.

6. Assist with cash management functions including reconciling bank accounts, preparing domestic and international wire transfers, preparing cash request forms and working to resolve issues with the treasury department.

7. Oversee billback process to investment ventures, organizing support, and researching issues.

8. Review and understand partnership agreements related to investment vehicles.

9. Communicate with team members, business managers, and other departments to answer questions, provide support and ensure timely completion of accounting processes.

10. Seek opportunities for synergy, improvement, simplification and automation of existing processes and reporting

Organizational Responsibilities:

· Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

· Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Working Conditions:

· Incumbents work in a hybrid office environment.

Physical Demands:

· Incumbents must be able to view computer screens and other electronic equipment, paper reports, and journals for extended periods of time where visual strain may result.

· Occasional travel may be required to attend business meetings, training classes, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field and 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

· Employment history that demonstrates the knowledge, application and usage of an accounting and financial background sufficient to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

· Exceptional communication, customer service, problem-solving and analytical skills utilized in effectively collaborating with team members at all levels throughout the organization as well as 3rd party consultants.

· Experience with Oracle ERP (preferred).

· Demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheet development, manipulation, analysis, etc.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create and generate spreadsheets and reports.

· Strong team working and interpersonal skills.

· Positive “can do” attitude with desire to learn, train and develop in the role.
