Compensation Range

Hourly: $23.20 - $26.90 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to monitor and process industry Mandatory and Voluntary Corporate Action events as well as, calculating and processing Amortization and Accretion and monitoring Proxy activity, while ensuring timely and accurate posting for events within the Commerce Trust Company client accounts.

Essential Functions

Demonstrate subject matter expert (SME) level knowledge of traded securities asset types as well as securities activities such as securities trading, securities settlement, free activity, and securities income.

Monitor event notice reports and maintain within the internal Corporate Action application.

Monitor, research, and resolve out of balances appearing on Corporate Action related reconciliation reports.

Perform complex taxation calculations on Corporate Action events to ensure cost basis and transactional accuracy.

Ability to manually calculate and post Amortization and Accretion when appropriate.

Monitor Proxy notices and assist internal partners on client account voting discrepancies as needed.

Identify and prevent liability risks related to event types for both Voluntary and Mandatory Corporate Actions

Identify opportunities for process improvement and process efficiencies.

Perform special project related work as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Strong knowledge of Traded Security Types and the impact various event types have on other aspects of security processing, such as pending trade activity.

Ability to recognize the critical impact of accurate processing and how it affects downstream processes.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to solve complex issues and make decisions.

Strong customer service skills

Ability to think with a growth mindset and recommend ways to streamline processes for efficiency.

Ability to work independently, prioritize and perform varied assignments with frequent distractions.

Motivated and organized initiative-taker with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Inquisitive, agile, and strong collaborator with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook 

Education & Experience

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

3+ years of Financial Services Industry related experience with securities knowledge required
