Job Description
Under the general direction of the Tax Director, the Corporate Tax Associate will work with the tax team on a broad range of tax compliance, analysis, and planning projects, including the calculations of income tax provisions, income tax returns, and international tax projects. This position exercises a high degree of judgment, analysis and innovative problem solving and will maintain high standards for effective and efficient department practices, processes and controls.
Responsibilities
Prepare, analyze, and review deferred tax provisions, including but not limited to, ASC 740 and FIN 48.
Prepare and review proper support for tax depreciation calculations, including reconciliations between book and tax depreciation and book and tax gains and losses.
Prepare estimated tax payments, extensions, and returns.
Prepare, review, and consolidate the federal, state, and local income tax returns for NANA and affiliated companies.
Maintain tax records necessary to support tax returns and financial statement accounting entries as required for tax auditors and independent accounting firms.
Research and analysis of tax laws and regulations, recommend appropriate actions; assist with implementations.
Participate in developing protests and appeals to income tax audit assessments and correspond with various taxing jurisdictions.
Prepare, maintain, and analyze basis and minimum gain calculations for partnerships and limited liability companies.
Prepare calculations and returns for shareholder and settlement trusts.
Ensure adherence to IRS and state tax codes and provide technical support to staff, management and subsidiaries for code interpretations.
Coordinate with subsidiaries on international tax activities and perform necessary research, documentation, and tax return preparation to adhere to IRS and OECD legislation.
Follow policies and procedures, complete administrative tasks correctly and on time.
Other related duties pertinent to the department’s success may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in Tax, Accounting or Finance is required. Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in tax, accounting, or finance.
Working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations and basic research skills required.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including, but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook, advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information; to analyze problems, exercise judgment, make sound objective decisions and implement solutions.
Effective organizational and time management skills; ability to apply common sense.

Preferred Requirements
CPA preferred and public accounting experience is desirable
OneSource income tax and tax provision experience.
Bloomberg Tax fixed asset experience.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos reporting system.
Compliance experience with the IRS and state and local government jurisdictions.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of software programs used in emails, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
The position requires reading, detailed work, problem solving, interactions with other companies including other NANA companies, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, will require the employee in the position to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and handle constant interruptions.
