Kforce has a client that is seeking Senior Cost Accountant in Germantown, MD. Key Tasks: * Senior Cost Accountant will perform analysis to identify operational variances including purchase price and material usage variances to standards on a weekly and monthly basis * Perform analysis and reporting to assist in the preparation of the annual budget * Work with the accounting team to prepare the quarterly forecast of projected spending and operational variances for financial reporting purposes * Perform accounting functions of the monthly close process * Verify standard costs and bills of materials are accurate * Analyze production scrap on a weekly basis and distribute a summary report to managers * Complete day-to-day control of the work order system, including analyzing and closing commercial and R&D work orders in a timely manner; Must be familiar with work order costing concepts * Manage and maintain inventory disposition requests and monitor inventory for obsolescence * Prepare monthly Yield, PPV, Reject and KPI Reporting * Create inventory items, maintain active items, inactivate and obsolete items including the maintenance of customer pricing and raw materials * Assist in the improvement of internal controls * Assist with yearend accounting processes and annual financial audit * Other duties as assigned
