Who you are:

You are a seasoned, insightful and pragmatic legal professional with deep expertise in regulatory and policy compliance with a focus on global trade and customs, ESG regulations, anti-bribery and ethics and consumer product safety. Known for your sharp intellect and pragmatic approach, you excel at navigating emerging, complex legal matters with practical solutions. You thrive in dynamic environments where you can collaborate, advise and drive efficient outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

Provide day-to-day pragmatic legal counseling on global trade, ESG, anti-bribery and product regulations, amongst others, in support of the company’s overall compliance and risk management strategiesAdvise on compliance best practices through close collaboration with the company’s supply chain, logistics, sourcing, production, CSR, design, retail and risk management teamsProactively monitor, stay informed of and provide updates on evolving regulations, including those around human rights, sanctions, waste management, product sustainability and chemical managementIdentify, communicate and escalate risks material to the business   Oversee the company’s supplier code of conduct and related human rights policies and programming, including the company’s supply chain compliance audit and assessment programManage and enhance the company’s product supply chain traceability program in support of its ESG goals and to identify sourcing risksEnsure a risk-based, consistent approach to compliance disclosures, including those related to human rights and within the company’s CSR reportingContinuously develop, maintain and enhance the company’s due diligence policies and practices related to trade, ESG, anti-bribery and product compliancePartner with outside counsel, as needed, with an eye toward driving business goals and providing counseling, while effectively managing time and costReview, edit and negotiate third-party agreementsAssist with other legal matters as required

You’ll Need to Have:

J.D. from accredited law school and member in good standing of at least one barMinimum 5-8 years’ experience working as a compliance/commercial lawyer; combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred (experience in the retail/consumer goods industry is a plus but not essential)Strong knowledge of the key regulations impacting consumer products, retailers and the fashion industry and a good understanding of the evolving global ESG regulatory landscapeProven ability to think strategically, work collaboratively and lead complex cross-functional projects from concept to completionEagerness to continue learning

Compensation Range: 

$175,000.00-$190,000.00
