Job Summary
Responsible for providing legal advice and recommendations for action to executives and management within a variety of business units regarding labor relations and wage and hour matters of various
complexities which have or may have a sizable dollar impact on business activities and operations.
Responsibilities also include responding on behalf of the company to government agency investigations, audits and administrative charges; developing and delivering training; and the assessment, selection,
and supervision of outside counsel.
Job ResponsibilitiesPrimarily leverages knowledge of legal specialty in providing counsel as it builds its knowledge ofthe business context in which it operatesReview and prepare legal documents prior to presentation to management for execution toensure accurate expression of the legal contentMay receive specific direction from management or more senior law professionals as to theoutcomes, process and schedules expected.Collaborates with the business units that it serves in order to achieve corporate objectives andmitigate unnecessary business riskResearch legal principles and precedents, engage and manage outside counsel, draft legaldocuments, gather relevant case related information using multiple sources and methods, provide work guidance to other professional, paraprofessional and support staff in developing solutions toproblems presented.Maintain currency and fluency in the legal and business trends that could impact those businessunits within Walgreens that it serves.
