Senior Counsel, Technology Contracting & Compliance
POSITION PROFILE
Provides legal advice on technology and other commercial contracts, including contract drafting, review, and negotiation, as well as other legal matters affecting Ricoh’s business. Primary legal advisor for privacy and data security.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews, drafts, and negotiates commercial agreements, including contracts with customers and/or suppliers/partners spanning topics including SaaS agreements, supplier/reseller agreements, professional and hardware maintenance services; managed services; licensing agreements; sales agreements and leases; supply agreements; and labor outsourcing agreements. Advises the business on privacy and data security, including data breaches and cross border privacy matters. Provides legal advice for new offerings for services, hardware, and technologies. Advises internal business clients on legal issues that arise during the operation of the company related to commercial law and legal compliance. Provides legal advice, guidance, and training to internal corporate clients on legal and risk issues arising from both the long-term strategy and the day-to-day business of the company. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
Typically Requires:
At least 5 years of business law experience, negotiating contracts in the technology sector. At least 5 years of data privacy law experience. Experience in privacy compliance, artificial intelligence, and data breach response is preferred. A degree from a reputable, accredited law school & admission to the bar of at least one state. Excellent academic credentials.

Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands
Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level. Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend, and apply complex material, data, and instruction – prepare, provide, and convey diversified information. Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). Moderate dexterity – regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination. Work has periodic stress due to frequent goals and deadlines, and responsibility associated with the role.
