What you'll do:

Senior Counsel works with the bank’s and its affiliates’ (collectively, the “Company’s”) business partners, executives, and other Legal Department staff to provide legal advice, counsel and support with respect to a wide variety of matters, but primarily the Company’s lending business and credit administration. Senior Counsel should have a variety of commercial finance experience (including deal structuring and loan origination), and demonstrate exceptional communication skills, critical thinking and judgment, and the ability to become a trusted legal and business advisor within the Company.

What we are looking for:

Provide legal advice and support (structuring, diligence, negotiation, etc.) on broad spectrum of commercial finance transactions, such as C&I, asset based lending, warehouse lending, equipment finance, resort finance, franchise finance, syndicated and structured transactions, public finance and commercial real estate.Advise and participate in the development of credit and lending policies, procedures and quality control programs.Autonomously handle routine and complex business transactions, including drafting and negotiating legal documents.Manage outside counsel with respect to loan origination, special assets, collection and lending-related litigation matters.Direct or participate on strategic teams to develop and implement Company products and initiatives.Advise the Company regarding compliance with laws and regulations applicable to commercial bank lenders.Oversee the work of outside counsel for various engagements on behalf of the Company.Advise the bank with respect to compliance with applicable lending laws and regulations.Participate in company and department initiatives, as needed.Oversee attorney or non-attorney staff as necessary to ensure the delivery of quality legal services.Ability to speak, listen, see (with or without correction).Ability to function in a typical office environment, engaging in activities such as writing, typing, walking, standing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), carrying, reaching, kneeling.  Ability to use a variety of computer related equipment.Ability to read documents or instruments, engage in detailed work, problem solving, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal communication, written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, training others, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

What you need to have:

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in Arizona or other U.S. jurisdiction.5+ years of relevant experience or training in private practice or in-house.Advanced knowledge in a broad spectrum of commercial finance transactions, including deal structuring, origination, workout and enforcement.Exceptional writing, drafting and negotiating skills; ability to synthesize legal research and concepts and translate into business guidance.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
