Senior Counsel - International Trade Compliance
**Job Description Summary** The International Trade Compliance (ITC) team is responsible for the compliant execution of global export controls and sanctions laws and regulations. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Leader for Sanctions Compliance, ITC, and work closely within the ITC team and GEA programs/functions to compliantly apply international trade laws and regulations to support and drive international business. Our legal and compliance teams are critical to our business operations, consisting of savvy legal experts dedicated to keeping our company’s operations compliant with laws and regulations. Including senior-level lawyers who supervise, litigate, and make strategic decisions to junior-level lawyers ready to research, review, and support **Job Description** **_Roles and Responsibilities_** • Monitor, conduct business risk assessments and provide legal counsel related to developing sanctions and export controls, including reviewing updated export controls and newly designated parties under applicable sanctions (e.g., U.S., EU, and UK); • Provide legal advice and counsel on ITC issues during due diligence and integration for strategic dispositions, mergers and acquisition transactions. • Conduct business risk and impact assessments in response to evolving sanctions and export controls. • Provide ITC advice on various corporate issues, including issues related to KYC/KYS due diligence, treasury, licensing, patents, and trademarks. • Manage day-to-day screening activity (e.g., denied parties, sanctions, embargos, end-use, end user) in full compliance with applicable U.S. and non-U.S. regulations. • Oversee administration of screening tools and related company systems, and track and audit key performance indicators to identify enhancement opportunities. • Maintain screening policies, procedures, and guidance, assist in the development and execution of an enhanced screening workflow, and provide related training to applicable organizations. • Support audits and assessments of global sites, functions, and programs; Work with a cross-functional team to identify and implement robust compliance systems and IT tools to enhance trade compliance. • Assist with investigations of potential non-compliance and resulting disclosures to government agencies in the U.S. and abroad. • Support a strong culture of compliance across the enterprise; and • Manage special projects and other compliance program continuous improvement initiatives • The base pay range for this position is $145,400.00 - 193,800.00 The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college and JD from an accredited law school + Member in good standing of the bar of at least one U.S. state. + Minimum 5 years of professional experience in trade compliance Experience with the application of ITC regulations (ITAR, EAR, Customs), including sanctions and embargos, in high volume environments **Desired Characteristics** + Knowledge of business systems, including Oracle Cloud, Salesforce and OCR-EASE + Willing to take on challenges. + Ability to adapt and grow in an expanding organization. + Commitment to compliance and integrity. + Strong judgement and analytical skills. + Customer relationship, communication, and interpersonal skills. + Proactive, organized, and detail oriented. _This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
