The Senior Coverage & Complex Claims Director in the Coverage and Complex Claim Department will have responsibility for management of coverage litigation and arbitration in designated Casualty practice areas including, but not limited to, Primary Casualty, Excess Casualty, Construction, Construction Defect, Long Term Exposure and Environmental.
Responsibilities will entail selection of and management of outside counsel with respect to the defense of Chubb in designated coverage disputes; management and oversight of all aspects of coverage litigation and arbitration including development of litigation and resolution strategies; management of discovery requests; attendance at depositions, mediations and trials, as necessary. Responsibilities also may include providing pre-litigation advice and review of complex coverage issues, assisting with responses to DOI complaints, as well as identifying litigation and claim trends and developing opportunities to address these trends
The position can be based in our Jersey City, NJ, Whitehouse Station, NJ, New Haven, CT or Philadelphia, PA offices on a 3/2 Hybrid model. Some travel will be required.
The ideal candidate will have 7 or more years of experience as a lawyer and/or claim professional with a high degree of specialized and technical competence in casualty coverage issues, litigation management and the handling of complex coverage issues, and coverage litigation. A law degree is required.

Ability to work independently, issue spot, and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources. Experience in senior management reporting. If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.
