Senior Credit Analyst

Summary

This position is focused on providing detailed analysis and decision making for the credit and collection efforts (500 active business accounts).  Additionally, the position will support the Director of Credit in managing all aspects of credit risk while working with sales personnel and interacting with customers.

 

The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Serves as the first point of contact for new business account customers. Works with internal sales team and external sources (credit reporting agencies, trade references, customer, etc.) to gather appropriate credit information to evaluate and analyze customer credit worthiness. Handles the administration of all credit and collection activities related to existing customers.  This involves overseeing collection efforts to ensure adherence to terms, minimize past due balances and avoid material bad debts. Professionally communicates with customers and sales personnel to coordinate timely and accurate payments and resolve any disputes and/or issues that may arise. Monitors and maintains customer orders placed on credit hold.   Provides analytical support for credit line reviews, customer payment trends, and any other ad hoc reporting, as needed.  Works with and maintains documentation, as required, with specialized international credit tools, i.e., letters of credit, sight drafts and bank drafts.  Performs any additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by Management.  Minimum Education and Experience

REQUIRED:   

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline. 5 years of related experience.  Ability to work independently. Strong communications skills and problem solving abilities. Progressive mindset and aptitude in the use of ERP systems, web portals, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.   May require some travel.        

 

 

PREFERRED:   Working knowledge of the Agribusiness commodities industry.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.  May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
