About the opportunity\:

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authorities (NDA) Programme and Project Partners (PPP) contract model, allows the skills and expertise of both Sellafield Ltd and their Lot Partners to be combined to deliver a step change in major project delivery

The Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) Future State Programme is one of the most complex challenges facing the NDA in dealing with the UK’s nuclear legacy is managing the stockpile of separated civil plutonium. 

The SNM Future State Programme will deliver capabilities to ensure the right material, is in the right package, in the right store to maintain the safe and secure storage of plutonium. To deliver the programme mission there are several tranches that must be delivered. The SNM Future Storage tranche will focus on providing additional modern standard, resilient storage capacity to store 100 Year Packages until the final disposition solution is implemented.

For this new team, we are seeking a Senior CS&A Engineer.

Some of your responsibilities will be\:

Lead functional input to own projects, including where relevant leading the input of other engineers, to ensure engineering delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality Carry out engineering calculations and check the work of more junior staff to deliver a quality functional input to projects Ensure that own work and that of more junior engineers on a project complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained Specify and procure equipment to meet requirements Provide functional support and guidance to more junior staff to develop both them as individuals and the capability of the team as a whole Carry out commissioning activities at client site as required, to ensure successful engineering handover. Coordinate and deliver CS&A design tasks (designs, assessments, drawings, and reports), checking and approving the output. Undertake site inspections to confirm design scope and to develop design solutions.
Produce design and assessment calculation packages, CS&A documents and inputting into multi-discipline documents (e.g. NFRs, BoD, DJRs)

* Substantial experience in relevant project design work General all round civil and structural design experience required, with experience working on alterations and modifications to existing structures amongst other asset care type projects. Experience of managing project deliverables, working as part of a team and managing stakeholders. Experience required in the static and seismic design of concrete (to ACI 318), steel and masonry structures. Team leadership capability.
