Position Summary:

The Senior Certified CT Technologist is responsible for administering Computed Tomography (CT) examinations in a hyper-acute care setting and performs diagnostic radiologic examinations in complex modalities.  Serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to staff as well as assists management with supervisory responsibilities.
  

Position Key Accountabilities:

1.    Prepares patients for CT exam, explains procedure and ensures technical quality.
2.    Performs diagnostic radiologic examinations in complex modalities aboard an ambulance.
3.    Ensures safe care to patients by adhering to policies, procedures, and standards; stays within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity and accuracy of practice.
4.    Responsible for overall care, maintenance, and quality assurance of Mobile Stroke Program diagnostic equipment.  Performs, and ensures, daily quality control checks of the mobile CT scanner.
5.    Reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunctions to the manager.
6.    Oversees daily work for technologists and diagnostic equipment for program.
7.    Participates in performance improvement measures.
8.    Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Current registration as a CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist and current licensure by the Texas Department of Health.  Ability to multitask in a high acuity, face-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.    
 

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Technology.

Minimum Experience:

Three (3) years of experience as a certified CT Technologist.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
