Cloud Lake Technology is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to drive security related tasks in support of a state government contract that provides comprehensive support to build a dividend application information system to include application development, automation, AI, data management, security, and cloud architecture related tasks. As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the new application environment is secured and adheres to NIST standards. The ideal candidate for this role must have the ability to multitask and engage on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to varied requirements across projects.
This Remote position requires that you reside in the United States and work on Eastern Standard Time (EST) schedule with the team.
Responsibilities
As a senior member of the cybersecurity team, lead cybersecurity related tasks to include planning, coordination, and weekly reporting.
Provide input to the System Security Plans (SSPs) to include defining the system boundary; specifying network, application, cloud, and infrastructure elements, roles and responsibilities, and initial interconnections.
Develop the NIST CSF 2.0 Framework and cybersecurity Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), provide governance criteria, and create an organizational profile to support a Tier 3 implementation.
Design and implement secure network solutions designed to defend against hackers, cyberattacks, and other persistent threats.
Continually test and monitor network solutions, making sure that all the system's defenses are up to date and working correctly.
Coordinate with the Solutions Architect and DevOps team to implement cloud-native security controls in application environments to minimize impacts to project delivery
Test and evaluate security products and solutions.
Provide cybersecurity oversight across all environments under testing, with a focus on validating results and addressing outstanding security items.
Conduct application and infrastructure penetration tests to help strengthen the security of application and network assets in both staging and production environments.
Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in existing systems.
Implement a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution
Monitor network activity for signs of unauthorized access or malicious activity.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
7+ years of hands-on experience in IT enterprise cybersecurity, preferably in the State or Federal government environment
Strong knowledge of and experience implementing the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0 or similar frameworks.
Certifications in cybersecurity such as Certified Information Security System Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are a plus.
Experience working on state government projects is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Linux technologies and networking fundamentals.
Proficiency in microservices architecture and cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
Must be able to work standard Eastern Time Zone hours and be in the continental US

Ability to multi-task and be creative and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced matrix team environment.
Excellent command of English (written and spoken) and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including a superior ability to work effectively at the highest levels within a State or Federal government environment on complex issues requiring consensus-building.
Demonstrated ability in developing effective professional and interpersonal relationships with peers and colleagues across multiple functional groups and external partners.
Ability to balance responsibilities among assigned activities; including the ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, and proven adaptability to varying customer needs.
Pay Range
$145,000-$159,000
