Job Description The Senior Data Analyst, Global Market Analytics & Insights will reside within the Global Market Analytics & Center of Excellence function, part of the Global Market Intelligence & Customer Insights & Analytics (GMCI&A) team. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders both within GMCI&A and across Olympus businesses to define data needs, develop and implement databases, establish standardized process, and provide data analytics and actionable insights to support Therapeutic Solution Division (TSD), Endoscopic Solution Division (ESD) and Corporate functions.   This position is critical to the overall analytical excellence development for the GMCI&A team. The candidate should be comfortable with working with complex data including global medical procedures, medical services, diseases, providers, Olympus products, customers, market and competitive parameters.   The candidate will need to possess strong data expertise regarding data mining, database design, data profiling, extraction, and transformation. The candidate will be proficient in skills such as Azure Data Lake and Databricks, SQL, Python or R, or other necessary data science and visualization techniques.   It is expected that this role will develop strategic partnership with leaders within GMCI&A and across the entire enterprise including Health Economics, Finance, Business Units, Marketing, Business Development, Sales, and other areas.   The candidate will also be a self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced matrix working environment. Job Duties Engage with GMCI  team leaders and business stakeholders to identify strategic needs where data and analytics can drive business value and transform business problems into data and analytical solutions. Partner with Health Economics, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and other teams across Olympus to assess and consolidate data sources on global medical procedures, medical services, diseases, providers, products, customers, market and competitive parameters, etc. Lead the efforts to scale data architecture and governance processes and set up and maintain a centralized database across all relevant data domains. Design and implement appropriate data collection, repository and reporting tools to improve data flows and supporting processes. Query databases and other data sources to extract and compile structured data to support strategic data needs for GMCI&A, Business Unit, Corporate, and other functions. Establish and maintain standardized data element definition, structure, and tables to support high frequency analytics including market models, market drivers and mix, segmentation, competitive benchmarking, forecasting, financial analysis, and other business analysis. Set up and implement standard dashboard, self-service reporting, and portal for prioritized and high frequent data requirements. Manage data driven projects involving timelines, vendor relationships, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered with the highest quality and within specified timeframes. Translate data into actionable insights and effectively communicate key findings and strategic recommendations to different levels of stakeholders globally. Collaborate with IT to ensure utilization and alignment on IT capability for data development and management. Build strategic partnerships across global Olympus business units and functions to uncover data synergies, drive efficiencies, and standardize best practices. Performs all other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, mathematics, engineering, finance, economics, or related disciplines; Advanced degree a plus. Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, database management, data science, business intelligence, market/customer intelligence, consulting, strategy, or equivalent area; preferably in the healthcare, medical device, or life sciences. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in data, database development and management including working knowledge on ETL and SQL. Experience with Python or R and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred. Minimum of 1 year of project management experience in leading data projects across multiple teams. Travel <10% (domestic and international).

Ability to transform business problems into data solutions.  Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience for developing data capability for complex projects. Self-motivated, high commitment and dedication with proactive mind-set. Outstanding written and verbal communication (incl. PowerPoint, presentation skills). Detail oriented and high-quality deliverables. Project management skills and the ability to multitask with detailed follow-through on deadlines. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.  Ability to successfully work with cross-functional teams.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $83,187.00 - $112,302.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
