Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Data Analyst.

The Senior Data Analyst will assist the Neurology Administration team with leading projects and initiatives on Data Analytics across all mission areas. This will focus on identifying and driving business analysis, providing decision support analysis to be used by leadership to facilitate informed decisions, and to generate valuable insights and transparency around all areas of the business. This position requires minimal supervision and will be expected to define business solutions including developing, designing, implementing, and/or modifying complex system reports. This position will be responsible for supervising any data analyst positions or similar positions within the department as we grow the team.

Job Responsibilities:

Utilize advanced data analytics to build predictive models that forecast departmental needs, patient outcomes, or financial trends, allowing for proactive decision-making. Establish and maintain data governance practices for the manually kept databases to ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, and ethical standards. This is particularly crucial when handling patient data in healthcare settings, and it should align with our Collibra data governance system. Conduct market research and analyze competitive data to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth or improvement in departmental services. Assist with data collection, reporting, and financial analysis needed for managing research grants. Ensure that all analytics align with grant requirements and compliance standards. Design and implement advanced dashboards and reports that align with the departments strategic objectives among different missions, enabling leadership to make informed decisions; Regularly refresh dashboards and manage server operations, including user access and troubleshooting; Enhance existing reports and dashboards by adding functionality and ensuring high data quality and accuracy. Provide departmental staff with training on using data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, etc.) and using the dashboards to foster a data-driven culture within the department. Identify opportunities for process automation within the department and work with IT, other corporate departments, or development teams to create automated workflows that improve efficiency. Evaluate and recommend data solutions that could enhance the department’s analytics capabilities Assist leadership in identifying operational risks by analyzing business processes and data trends, and propose mitigation strategies based on the findings. Gather, review, and analyze business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports, and other key metrics, while ensuring data quality and accuracy. Operationalize KPIs and integrate them into regular reporting for monitoring departmental performance. Develop and maintain tools to track departmental KPIs, integrating them into routine reports for enhanced performance monitoring. Deliver insights on potential areas of growth, optimization, and improvements Support business intelligence strategies with quantitative analysis Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to align data-driven strategies with broader business objectives and support process automation, financial planning, and clinical insights Gathering insights about issues that need resolving or processes that can be improved Bridge the gap between financial insights and operational needs, facilitating more informed and strategic decision-making. Assist with project management for selected projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in business, finance or other appropriate discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of comparable education and experience.
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Proven experience with programming languages (SQL, DAX, R, Python).
Synthesizes complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs work flows and procedures.
Problem-solving skills. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions.
Planning and organization/Project Management Skills. Strong communication skills. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; responds well to questions; demonstrates presentation skills; participates in meetings; writes clearly and informatively; varies writing styles to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively.
Ability to maintain high level confidential information at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of how Language Models (LLMs) operate and their applications in data visualization and reporting.
Bachelors degree in business, finance or other appropriate discipline with at least 3-5 years of relevant financial and grants management experience, or a combination of comparable education and experience.
Excellent business/transaction processing skills and strong analytical skills.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 – $112,360.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
