We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Salesforce Architect / Senior Data Analyst to support the National Security Innovation Network (NSIN), a component of the Defense Innovation Unit’s Commercial Operations Team reporting to the Secretary of Defense. NSIN an organization dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration among DoD Mission Partners, Academia, Industry, new ventures & entrepreneurs, private capital investors, and other national security stakeholders to solve some of the most complex challenges facing the nation.

 

The Salesforce Architect must be creative and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment, with exemplary time management skills and the ability to identify, anticipate, and fulfill needs. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a diversity of situations, with excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities and equities in a high-tempo environment serving NSIN and DIU’s mission.

The successful candidate will build ongoing rapport and interact seamlessly and with a professional demeanor across a broad range of individuals including members of the Senior Management Team, government contractors, Federal civilian and military employees, and cross-government stakeholders. The role is expected to handle exquisitely highly sensitive, confidential, and institutional information while exercising professionalism and discretion.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

● Provide guidance to a US Department of Defense (DoD), 4th Estate support organization, on functionality available on the Salesforce platform and Salesforce Ecosystem/AppExchange to address business needs for +300 end users, in 3 separate entities (using the same Salesforce instance) with different workflows and different financial metrics, different operational metrics and different reporting responsibilities to US DoD peers, Congress and Executive Branch based on data stored and managed in the Salesforce instance.
● Work with our federal government and DoD organizations leadership and team members to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change/innovation management activities.
● Design scalable robust solutions on the Salesforce platform to meet business requirements.
● Communicate solution options to business owners/stakeholders (e.g. architecture reviews).
● Coordinate the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests.
● Driving solution creation activities by collaborating across cross-functional teams.
● Assist in training of new users, and grow the Salesforce.com skill set across the organization.
● Drive evaluation and selection of customizations or AppExchange applications to best address business requirements.
● Design Complex Enterprise Solutions using the Salesforce Platform and Salesforce Ecosystem/AppExchange, etc.
● Drive the creation of technical solution documents and design documents leveraging Salesforce's best practices.
● Incorporate software and system architecture into conceptual designs while ensuring alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps).
● Developing solution diagrams, reference architecture, etc.
● Serve as primary system administrator for the Lightning Salesforce.com environment.
● Handle all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, and other routine tasks.
● Maintain custom objects, custom buttons/actions, formulas, validation rules, flows, workflows, process builders, approvals, and assignment rules.
● Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades.
● Manage Salesforce.com data feeds and other integrations.
● Provide technical guidance to our application development team.
● Advise and mentor diverse internal and vendor teams.
● Collaborate with developers in setting standards and driving quality coding practices.
● Establish technical best practices and/or align with organization best practices.
● Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to architectural solutions.
● Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders such as Senior Government Executives, contractors, and external parties.

REQUIREMENTS:

 

● 5+ years of Salesforce Solutions Architect experience including a detailed understanding of CRM core and integrated application architecture.
● 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce.com administrator in a Lightning org.
● 5+ years of experience in IT Solution Delivery and architecture.
● 5+ years or Expert-Level understanding of the Salesforce Force.com (http://force.com/) Platform.
● 5+ years of experience with Apex, Visualforce, Triggers, SOQL & SOSL.
● Strong web development skills including JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript Scripting Languages, DHTML, SOAP and AJAX.
● Ability to work a hybrid schedule, to include remote and our Crystal City, VA headquarters office or NY Metro Area.
● US Citizenship required - must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance or above; active DoD Secret Clearance or above preferred.
● Salesforce.com certifications preferred as related to description above.
● Other certifications preferred as related to description above.
● Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment preferred.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

 

Must have a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTI are required.
