Purpose of Position: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analytics Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for building datasets, reports, analytics, dashboards, and visualizations. The Senior Data Analytics Engineer will create and schedule Power BI datasets from various sources, enabling data analysts and business users to easily analyze, visualize, and act upon the data.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business users to determine reporting and visualization needs and appropriate datasets for managed and self-service reporting. Act as a conduit between Data Engineering and the business to translate business data needs to the technology team. Develop and implement appropriate data sets for business use. Analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements. Develop process/procedural documentation, including training documentation, step-by-step procedural outlines, FAQs, how-to's, and best practices outlines. Interface with governing groups to ascertain database application and customization needs. Assist in the specification and maintenance of records for user access regarding access level and available data for each relevant database. Mentor team members in data analytics concepts and tools as needed. Be accountable and responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work and results. Prioritize and manage workload and communicate issues clearly. Complete other tasks as required. Travel when required.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience.

Minimum Experience:

5+ years of experience in a data analytics or data engineering environment using Power BI Service with cloud and on-premise databases.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

In-depth experience in data analytics using Power BI Service, Power BI Report Server, and SSRS to develop semantic data models, reports, and dashboards. In-depth experience in m-language. Experience in building tabular models in SSAS and AAS for use with Power BI Reporting Service and Power BI Report Server. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving performance issues. Knowledge of Python or other modern stack tools is a plus. Proficiency in Databricks and SQL databases. Knowledge in data transformation, data warehousing, and deployment tools is a plus. Experience collaborating with business units to define data needs, acting as a conduit between technology and the business. Knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and other Windows-based programs. Ability to plan and accomplish goals, perform various complicated tasks in a fast-paced, production-critical support environment, and exhibit creativity and latitude. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and communicate. May be required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required include the ability to view monitors, technical documents, and reference material. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
