Senior Data and Reporting Analyst
Overview

Performs complex analyses of quality outcomes and/or product metrics to identify various trends. Analyzes patient level data and translates results into quality outcomes. Identifies opportunities for improvement based on statistical analysis. Provides baseline and ongoing macro and micro level process and outcome data to support rapid cycle improvement strategies. Translates data into meaningful and actionable formats for clinical and operational review and analysis. Works under general supervision.


Responsibilities
Identifies opportunities for improvement in clinical and operational processes that can lead to improved quality of care through analysis and interpretation of varied healthcare, clinical and utilization data.Monitors data trends and identifies patterns and recommends improvement solutions.Performs detailed and high-level analyses and reporting to provide insight to department leadership.  Leverages relevant data to support strategic business decisions.Analyzes data, identifies trends, reviews, and evaluates findings based on requests.  Summarizes data in user-friendly reports constructing tables and graphs; provides statistical and qualitative analysis. Coordinates initiatives to improve data quality with providers and operations staff while integrating data needs.  Researches methodologies and conducts advanced metric reporting for quality scorecards, etc. Utilizes internal dashboards, tools and data sources to anticipate and evaluate potential challenges and/or opportunities. Provides insight to leadership regarding trends in quality metrics.Works with multiple systems to extract, integrate and use large volumes of data for analysis. Prepares clinical and operational performance data analytics and summaries; participates with senior leadership in the identification of opportunities for improvement for the care of members or patients in both the home and inpatient settings.Automates reporting process for standard reports, optimizes programs and develops solutions to minimize the amount of time required for standard reporting. Monitors and evaluates specific elements of Home Care quality and performance improvement in collaboration with quality, product and/or operations leadership. Keeps abreast and maintains technical and applied mastery of industry quality, process, and performance metrics, including HHQI/OBQI and Quality of Care Star ratings, as appropriate.Participates in special projects and performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, in public health, epidemiology, healthcare informatics, statistics, or a related field required.  Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:  Minimum two years’ experience, (three years if Bachelor’s) in applying analytics, statistics and/or data visualization expertise to data sets required.  Experience with large data sets and/or the analysis of patient-level healthcare data required. Strong qualitative and quantitative analytic skills, as well with the ability to interpret and present key analytic findings, required. Knowledge of and experience with SQL, R, or SAS, and proficiency with presentation tools such as MS Office suite, required.  Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and Microstrategy preferred.  Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Demonstrated outstanding critical thinking and attention to detail skills required.  

For Quality Only:  Understanding of quality metrics pertaining to value-based care and home health care preferred. Knowledge of CMS Home Health Quality of Patient Care Star Ratings preferred.
