Senior Data Engineer
**Overview** **Employer:** Epsilon Data Management LLC **Job Title:** Senior Data Engineer **Job Requisition:** 6630.7491.5 **Job Location:** 6021 Connection Drive, Irving, Texas 75039. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S. **Job Type:** Full Time **Duties:** Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Build, review and improve new and existing data pipelines, improve data structure and availability. Participate in design, development, and implementation of robust, high volume data-oriented solutions with big data technologies. Works independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments to find solutions to existing problems. Responsible for creating re-useable processes that help implement each solution. Involved in contributing to the development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Work with stakeholders to understand the business needs and gather requirements to develop appropriate solutions. Prepare business and technical documents. Work with business analysts to identify and develop data-driven solutions to business problems. Monitor data systems, troubleshoot issues and report on data usage and performance. **Requirements:** Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field followed by five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Experience must include one year of experience in each of the following: 1. Utilize big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PySpark, Databricks to process and analyze large volumes of data. 2. Use Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Cloudera to host and manage data processing and storage infrastructure. 3. Work with programming languages such as Python, Java C++ to develop data processing pipelines, automate data workflows and build data driven applications. 4. Implement tools such as Apache Airflow, and Informatica to support a wide range of use cases including data warehousing, business intelligence, data migration and data synchronization. 5. Use SQL to manage and manipulate relational databases including the ability to write complex queries, optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues using several SQL types such as Teradata, Oracle PL/QL, MySQL, Toad SQL and SQLPlus. 6. Utilize relational databases such as Snowflake, Teradata, Oracle, Hive, Impala, and Amazon Athena to design and handle large amounts of data and provide efficient ways to query and manipulate data.
