SENIOR DATA ENGINEER- CUSTOMER DATA
American Eagle Outfitters, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Senior Data Engineer. This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States but must be able to work in the Pittsburgh office at least one (1) day per week. Will serve as a lead for an offshore development team and support the delivery of personalization solutions through the collection, processing, and management of customer data. Specific duties include: developing, administering, and analyzing solutions for the company's customer data systems; (ii) working in an agile environment, applying SDLC principles and SCRUM methodologies; (iii) ensuring software and product security, scalability, adherence to data warehousing principles, and the implementation of best practices across technologies; (iv) guiding junior team members; (v) acting as a subject matter expert in AEO customer data; and (vi) setting best practices and standards for cloud ETL development.

Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in a related position.
Will also accept a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related position.
Must have two (2) years of experience with: (i) cloud based platform: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS); (ii) orchestration software: Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer; (iii) Data flow software: Nifi, AWS Step Functions, or GCP Dataflow; (iv) Cloud database/data lake storage: Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Apache Hudi, or GCP BigQuery; (v) Serverless cloud functions: AWS Lambda Functions or GCP Cloud Functions; (vi) Cloud Monitoring software: AWS Cloud Trail or GCP Cloud Monitoring and Alerting; (vii) Messaging buffers: Apache Kafka, AWS SQS, or GCP Pub/Sub; and (viii) Object Oriented language: Python.
Must have any experience with: (i) SQL; (ii) Terraform; (iii) CI/CD; (iv) batch processing; (v) streaming data; and (vi) delivery of personalization solutions through the collection, processing, and management of customer data.
Experience can be concurrent.
