Senior Data Management Professional - Data Engineering - Sanctions

We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes - all while providing platinum customer support to our clients. **Our Team:** The Sanction product covers entity level financial sanctions for 12 jurisdictions globally along with export controls and dual use military goods for the major jurisdictions. Our team works closely with the Compliance and Legal teams to ensure that the sanction regulations are interpreted correctly while engaging with various data security teams to implement trade blocking actions at the security level. **What’s the role?** Our Data Engineers are a dynamic group of individuals who take on the more exciting aspects of our data product, from data engineering to business analytics, using different technologies. Our Data Engineers possess an outstanding combination of technical, interpersonal and communication skills, which they apply to spot gaps and find improvement opportunities to our product’s technologies. They are seen as technical leaders across the organization. As such, we are looking for a highly motivated individual who's passionate about building workflows and analyzing data. You will apply your problem-solving skills to handle the pipelines, automation processes and workflows that feed our products. In addition to that, you will analyze our data using business intelligence tools, to get the best insights out of it. You will be encouraged to lead projects, collaborate with different partners, and mentor junior members of the group who are looking to develop technically. **We'll Trust You To:** + Buildand maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to support the ingestion,transformation, and loading of vast amounts of data from various sourcesusing internal tech stack + Develop, maintain and enhance ETLpipelines to support data quality strategies and data governanceprinciples + Implement acquisition strategies fordata point extraction from structured and unstructured documents + Set up and maintain procedures to ensurethe accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of Sanctions data + Design schemas and config storesoptimized for the specific use cases + Independently manage technical projects,including scoping requirements, timely delivery and stakeholder update onproject milestones + Discuss and rationalize methodologicaland technical decisions for suggested solutions using metrics and datamanagement best practices + Find opportunities for improvement andinnovation through analysis of internal processes and close collaborationwith the Sanctions specialists + Train and mentor Sanctions specialistson usage of internal tech stack used in their workflow + Use statistics and data visualization to generateinsights about ongoing operations and projects and communicate the resultseffectively ● Incorporate machine learning and statistics to detect anomalies and drive quality improvement in areas such as accuracy, completeness, consistency and reliability ● Communicate with impact, ensuring sophisticated information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences including senior executives **You’ll Need to Have*** *Please note we use years of experience as a guide, but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role. ● 4+ years of Python programming and scripting in a production environment ● Proven experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases ● Familiarity with software development lifecycle ● Understanding of machine learning, applied statistics and data analytics ● Understanding and experience working with large-scale, distributed systems ● Strong problem-solving skills, particularly to modify and improve processes and workflows ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical processes and solutions to business partners and management ● High attention to detail and degree of shown decision-making and problem-solving skills ● Ability to work independently as well as in a distributed team environment as well as influence others and lead change **We’d Love to See:** ● Familiarity with major sanction regimes such as the US, UK and EU ● An understanding of risk management and ability to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory processes ● Agile/Scrum Project Management experience ● Experience using business intelligence and visualization tools **Does this sound like you?** Apply if you think we're a good match.
