Senior Data Protection Administrator (REMOTE)
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** Initiative 7 - Immutable backups 1 of 2 **POSITION PURPOSE** Responsible for the protection of the corporate data integrity through backup and replication technologies and software. Installs, maintains, and supports software and hardware associated with data protection at the enterprise, regional and local level. Assists to set the direction and implement standards among the implementation team. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Knows, understands, incorporates, demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. + Supports and provides technical expertise on all activities for enterprise backup, cyber vault technologies, immutable backups, retention, and restoration of data., which includes administration, installation, updates, configuration, patching, service packs, version upgrades and maintenance as well as daily monitoring for all data protection software and hardware. + Implement backup and disaster recovery plans to protect data and ensure business continuity. Includes daily operational tasks related to all thing’s cyber recovery. Regular testing, optimizing for performance, availability, fault tolerance, log review, managing users, login sessions, etc. + Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in customer service and maintains a strong focus on meeting or exceeding backup service level agreements necessary to achieve shared overall organizational success. Creates implements and supports processes and procedures to improve the services we deliver to our customers. + Works independently and collaborates as needed with application teams, customers and vendors for planning, design, implementation and troubleshooting of enterprise data protection solutions to ensure the continued functionality of backups. + Performs any data protection project work as assigned adhering to timelines and objectives set forth by the project. Mentors and peer review of project work for team members as needed. + Plans and monitors the environment for growth and ensures appropriate as capacity increases/decreases in the infrastructure. Implements and supports any tools which help monitor capacity and performance and is available to assist architect or manager with forecasts and planning. + Works independently to identify analyze and resolve complex problems or issues in a timely fashion and participates in an on-call rotation as required. May also assist or provide consultation to other team members during projects or problem resolution, as necessary. + Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) assisting to train and build team skills in data protection technologies and supporting applications. Works to bridge gaps amongst technical teams and/or liaison for the team. + Research software and hardware marketplace trends and is a continuous learner to proactively build on knowledge and skill sets and provide direction to the team. + Plans and participates in disaster recovery testing. + Contributes and collaborates with team architect to set direction, establish, and update policies and build an enterprise platform to ensure the data of the enterprise is protected. + Reliable backup for manager to oversee delegation of work assignments and day to day business in manager's absence if needed. + Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and five (5) years of data protection system administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Cyber protection technologies, air gap, immutable backups and or advanced threat detection technology in respect to data integrity operational tasks. Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and execution. + Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of data protection applications and object store technologies typically obtained through (5) years of experience. + Subject matter expert in data protection software, scripting tools, or hardware (immutable data protection technologies, cyber technologies. Such as, Data Domain Avamar, TSM, VTL's, Virtual Technologies, Storage GRID, Rubrik, TKLM, Networker, etc.) + Knowledge of server platforms, storage area networking, firewalls, disk subsystems and network platforms, as normally obtained through work experience is desired. + Must possess knowledge of various operating system platforms. + Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative shared leadership environment. + Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health. **PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS** + Must be able to set and organize work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently.
