How You'll Make an Impact

Lead and drive the development and implementation of AI/ML models and algorithms to drive innovation across the AI within our water productsCreate the technical strategic vision for data science within water productsCollaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams across the organization to identify and prioritize high-impact use cases for AI/ML applicationsDrive rapid prototyping efforts, focusing on learning from experiments, iterating on solutionsDemonstrate innovative and creative thinking to develop novel AI/ML approaches and solutionsPartner with product teams in order to embed AI/ML model solutions into physical and digital productsConduct in-depth data analysis and feature engineering to extract valuable insights and improve model performanceIdentify key insights from large data sources; interpret and communicate insights from data and analysis to product, service, and business managersPartner with our ML engineering team to design, develop, and deploy scalable and robust AI/ML solutions to solve complex business problems and improve operational efficiencyContinuously monitor and optimize AI/ML models to ensure their accuracy, reliability, and performance in production environmentsStay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and apply them to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edgeLead projects with both hands-on coding/analysis and thought leadership with a minimum viable product and minimum lovable product mindset leveraging the best technologies and methodologies appropriate for the business need and maturityProactively identify and communicate the challenges, opportunities, risks, and threats associated with project work to ensure the timely completion of the entire product

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

Qualifications

Experience You'll Bring

Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (we will consider exceptional candidates without advanced degrees)8+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI/ML models in a production environmentExperience operating as a technical leadStrong expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and statistical modeling techniquesExtremely experienced in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL for data manipulation and analysisExperience with end-to-end feature development (owning feature definition, roadmap development, and experimentation)Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity, and competing objectivesExperience with big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to develop innovative AI/ML solutionsStrong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersProven track record of delivering high-impact AI/ML projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentDemonstrated ability to persevere and iterate through solutions in the face of technical challenges and setbacksHands-on experience in building solutions leveraging the latest AI capabilities and advancements, including large language models, generative AI, and other state-of-the-art techniques

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $105,000 USD - $165,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
