WHY DATA SCIENCE & ANALYTICS?

The Data Science & Analytics organization’s mission is to increase our speed, frequency and acumen of making decisions at scale by instilling a data-influenced approach to building products. We cover a wide area of the data spectrum including analytical data engineering, product analytics, experimentation, causal inference, statistical modeling and machine learning. Aligned and partnering with product verticals, we use this extensive toolbelt to discover new opportunities and unmet use cases, influence and shape the product roadmap and prioritization, build data products and measure impact on our community of players and creators.

WHY CREATOR SERVICES?

The Creator Services team enables unbounded creation through reliable core services, off-platform extensibility and AI automation. This Creator Services DSA member will partner with teams responsible for improving the performance and quality of existing services such as data store and teleports, as well as extending Roblox APIS for off-platform services. You will be in charge of defining KPI metrics, creating strategic analysis, designing A/B experiments and applying predictive models. As a data scientist, you will be a key partner to our product and engineering teams to shape the future of Roblox. You’ll partner with data scientists, product managers, engineers and leaders across the company to take our understanding of our creators to the next level.

You Will:

Accelerate product development through your understanding of the underlying data and your ability to partner with product and technical leaders to provide insights that drive growth.Forecast infrastructure costs and model drivers that influence cost and quality of services.Access raw data, and then transform it, analyze it, and render it in a compelling way.Build dashboards to identify root causes of changes in metrics.Evaluate A/B experiments to determine success of product feature launches.Build predictive models to provide insight on high signal creators to target and grow to the next stage.Identify how Roblox services play a role in creating great experiences on the platform.

You Have:

Advanced or equivalent degrees in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or other technical field4+ years of industry experience in analytics; 2+ years of experience in statistical modeling and machine learning4+ years of experience using big data query/processing languages such as SQL, Hive or Spark to transform/manipulate very large datasets2+ years of experience in one or more scripting languages such as Python or R2+ years of industry experience in a leadership role collaborating with cross functional partners4+ years of experience in fast-paced environment or fast growing company, such as the tech sectorInterest and past experience leading and mentoring others as an individual contributorExperience working with platform teams (e.g. a SaaS company or an infrastructure or platform team) and/or content creation products, particularly user-generated contentAbility to communicate analytics results and data storytelling to influence product teams and leaders

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range$239,080—$310,270 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
