In the Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) therapy area, we are now opening a new exciting opportunity within Late CVRM Biometrics as Senior Data Scientist. In collaboration with clinicians and statisticians, we use machine learning, predictive modelling, and visualisation to support delivery of our clinical trial pipeline and drive scientific breakthroughs. This role will be based at AstraZeneca’s R&D site in Barcelona, Spain.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will develop innovative analytics solutions, machine Learning models, generative AI solutions and advanced visualizations, to generate data-driven disease understanding and improved drug development processes.
Responsibilities include:
Design and implement statistical and machine learning models to support and expedite data-driven decision-makingCreate novel analytics solutions with applications both within our organization and externallyCollaborative Partnerships: Build and maintain strong collaborations with a diverse range of internal and external partnersStay informed about industry trends and recommend new technologies and approaches for the company to adoptWork closely with subject matter experts to understand their analytical needs, ensure analyses are fit for purpose, and clearly communicate insightsEssential for the role
MSc Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative fieldProficiency in Python programming, with experience in developing generative AI model solutions, such as retrieval-augmented generationStrong skills in data analysis, drawing actionable insights, and presenting findings clearly and succinctlyProven track record of successful collaboration with stakeholders and impactful data science project deliveryExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDesirable for the role
