Job Description:
Seeking an Senior DBA for primary support of Oracle E-Business Suite environments and secondary support of OCI, AWS, SQL and third-party products. Candidate should exhibit technical proficiency at proactively supporting recoverable applications and databases in a 24/7 hosting environment. Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 Application Administration:
• Refresh Non-Production instances from Production.
• Perform application patch analysis, install and resolve patch install issues.
• Monitors environment to assure performance, stability & availability.
• Investigates and resolves problems.
• Coordinate with deployment teams to promote code based on formal Change Management process to user test and production environments with minimal disruption to user productivity.
• System Administration such as Oracle Workflow support, add new accounts or roles, set profiles and grant user privileges at appropriate levels of access.
• Assist in installing new Products/Modules as per business requirement.
Oracle Database Administration 12c:
• Provide Production and Non-Production database access.
• Backup, restore Oracle databases and resolve backup issues.
• Coordinate with Security, Unix, Storage and Network teams in planning/executing DBA tasks.
• Excellent experience in Oracle developer software tools like TOAD.
• Patch analysis, planning and executing database patches after due testing and approvals.
• Provide sizing/capacity planning recommendations.
• Perform database patch analysis, install and resolve patch install issues.
• Experience with Oracle DB Enterprise features like Oracle Grid/ASM, DataGuard (Physical/Logical Standby), Multi-tenant DB (CDB/PDB)
Performance Tuning:
• Identifying poorly performing Concurrent Programs/SQL queries and work with technical teams to tune SQL queries/procedures.
• Diagnose and present effective solutions for application and database performance issues supported by empirical evidence.
• Optimize the Database and Application Components and parameters for sustained performance and avoiding performance bottlenecks.
• Review and generate database statistics.
Service Desk Support:
• Triage, escalate and troubleshoot user issues and resolve service incidents.
• Assist IT business analyst and development teams.
• Create and manage Oracle Support service requests for database and application issues.
• Assist in supporting third-party products and external interfaces.
Additional Knowledge on SQL DBA preferred
• Application development (PowerShell, VBScript, SQL).
• Experience managing large scale SQL Server 2014 and higher environments in a virtual/cloud environment.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration for SQL Server versions 2014 up to the latest version. Includes but not limited to installs, upgrades, server and database migrations and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering for SQL Server AlwaysOn High Availability groups and Mirroring is preferred
• Expert knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server Database related products such as Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS)
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (CS, CE, CIS, IS, MIS or engineering discipline).
• 5 - 8 years of experience in Oracle EBS (11i & R12) Applications DBA support.
• Strong experience in Oracle EBS as Oracle Apps DBA. Experience in upgrades, cloud migration and fusion applications is added advantage.
• Hands on working knowledge of database SQL commands and scripting.
• Working experience in global rolled out environment will be an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server database is desirable.
• Experience in integrating/supporting 3rd party external applications
• Available off hours for occasional critical support and maintenance.
