The Team
As an Oracle expert, you'll become part of the Oracle Expert Team within WB Tech.You will work in close collaboration with internationally diversified squads in ING's Agile organization to achieve the commitments.The Oracle Expert Team is a specialized group of professionals with deep expertise in Oracle technologies, responsible for the design, implementation, management, optimization, and support of Oracle-based systems within an organization. The team's primary objective is to ensure that Oracle databases and related applications perform at their best, remain secure, and align with the organization’s business and technical goals.In collaboration with your team, you will play a key role in keeping ING at the forefront of IT standards while continuously driving improvements.The chapter is responsible for consulting squads to help them manage their systems according to best practices.We support Oracle consumers by proactively identifying potential risks before they become issues, assisting them with performance improvements, keeping blocking database issues on track, and enhancing database reliability .We support squads to embrace a proactive approach to reduce incidents and outages, ultimately improving the overall customer experience.Roles and responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environmentLead the design and implementation of database configurationsDrive automation initiatives using modern scripting and programming techniquesManage and expand robust database solutions that power ING's databasesEnsure the database security and performance of critical banking systemsPioneer innovative solutions for complex database challengesIdentify and mitigate risks to minimize incidents, and outages, and enhance the customer experienceAdvise squads on efficient resource usage, lifecycle management, and capacity planningAssist squads with performance optimization and SQL tuningOrganizing knowledge-sharing and awareness sessions for Oracle consumers across the companyConducting reliability interviews with Asset Owners to enhance database reliabilityEstablish standards based on industry best practicesLead and coordinate strategic projects, collaborating with other IT teams as neededBring senior-level expertise to the team, sharing knowledge and best practices with the ING Oracle communityStay updated with the latest technologies and database solutions, always seeking opportunities for innovation

You'll thrive in this role if you have:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in computer scienceMinimum 8 years of relevant work experience in a complex IT environment and extensive knowledge of Oracle Database Architecture, Performance Tuning, Data Management (OCP-OCM experience or equivalent)Experience with Oracle Exadata and Multitenant Architecture PL/SQL knowledgeExperience in working with Linux RHELKnowledge of, and experience with ELK stack and other monitoring and alerting solutions like Grafana and PrometheusScripting experience with one or more scripting languages or automation solutions (Ansible, Korn/Bash Shell, Python) to automate routine database taskKnowledge of and experience with continuous delivery tools like GIT, Azure DevOps, and Azure pipelineKnowledge of, and experience with troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve complex database issues promptlyExperience with capacity planningExperience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and an understanding of system reliability, scalability, and fault toleranceStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHands-on and creative mentalityA positive mindset and good social and communication skillsYou are flexible and versatileAn excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writingRewards and benefits
