Your role and responsibilities
As Senior Project Lead Engineer you will plan, coordinate, execute and manage larger DCS projectswith medium to high complexity in the energy industry. You will be responsible for all the technicaland execution aspects of multiple disciplines, technical knowledge sharing and applying bestpractices.With your charismatic personality and broad lead experience, you will drive excellence by ensuringthat engineering activities are executed efficiently in line with expectations, specifications, standardsand safety requirements.• Responsibility of fulfilling the contractual obligations together with the Project Manager for medium to high complexity DCS Projects in technical, cost and on-time delivery criteria.• Leading, coordinating, coaching and supporting discipline leads, experts, engineering, offshore engineering and external suppliers. • Acting as overall design authority for the engineering deliverables and technical solutions towards the internal organization, customers and authorities.• Working closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions, seeking feedback, and innovating with them to drive and deliver improvements.• Developing and reviewing standard processes, tools and techniques while ensuring that engineering activities comply with safety regulations and contractual requirements.• Assisting project managers in scope control risk and opportunity assessments and implementing improvement and mitigation actions.Providing technical details, cost calculations and deliverables definition for sales proposals.• Supporting Project Managers in issuing claims related to changes in project scope, including assessing cost and time impacts as well as risk quantifications.
Qualifications for the roleLeadership personality with 8-10 years engineering and commissioning experience in larger size process automation projects with at least 4 years in a lead engineer role of teams of 5-10 engineers covering software and electrical engineering.Strong interpersonal skills are required to achieve cooperation, negotiate & reach agreement with customers and suppliers. In addition to that a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong written and spoken communication skills are an essential.Broad knowledge in “State of the Art” technology, engineering practices and codes and standards in the automation fields.In depth knowledge of large-scale process automation DCS Systems as ABB 800xA or comparable.Experience in managing and fulfilling functional safety requirements in System, Software and Hardware design as well as a strong focus on safety at work and dedication to following workplace safety guidelines.Business fluent in German and English, French is an asset.Bachelor’s or master’s in electrical engineering or in a related technical field.
