Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team is responsible for improving overall availability and efficiency for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have multiple teams focused on both Microsoft and Lessor datacenter performance and all aspects of datacenter utilization effectiveness that includes power, water and labor. We are seeking a **Senior Demand Planner** to support the Operational Supply Chain across datacenters globally. This role will drive the demand forecast and plan across our critical environment supply chain.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.
**Responsibilities**
+ Demand Planning and Forecasts: Oversees and directs the plan or forecast across the company for demand planning. Drives clarity and understanding of what is required to achieve plan (e.g., operational resources, collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment [CPFR], budget, engineering changes) and assists team members with potential issues. Oversees the analysis of data and leads team in identifying trends, patterns, correlations, and insights to develop new forecasting models and improving existing models. Oversees development of short and long term (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly) demand forecasts and develops and publishes key forecast accuracy metrics; analyzes data to identify potential sources of forecasting error. Partners closely with Business Units, Finance, and/or Operations to drive optimal short and long-term demand plans to achieve financial and operations targets, and to gather requirements to build forecasting and decision support models to improve efficiency. Presents findings/insights regularly to forecasters, planners, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
+ Capacity Planning: Leads capacity plan development and engagement, while impacting customer capacity availability and the bottom line cost. Leverages subject matter expertise to manage supply-demand match and mitigation plans for capacity gaps, as well as what-if scenarios to support decision making with a Service and a profit and loss (P&L) mindset. Engages and drives challenging decisions with Engineering. Contributes to plans and execution beyond one's area.
+ Finished Goods Inventory: Leads the designing of solutions to adjust to changes in demand after deployment and excessive finished goods. Addresses excess goods by leading the repurposing of such goods for components or complex products and providing solutions to reduce future issues.
+ Risk Management: Engages with senior leaders to difficult business decisions around risk mitigation or de-risk; makes tradeoff decisions. Drives the prioritization and criticality during demand or supply events (e.g., quality, hardware, reliability, execution delays). Manages risk to plans. Leads the creation of the correct buffer and inventory strategy to manage risk.
+ Lifecycle Management: Manages hardware and software roadmap. Launches through decommission plans and strategies (e.g., demand forecast, inventory, buffer). Drives solutions to meet business goals.
+ Independently defines and manages strategic implementation for both new and improved processes two to three years in advance.
+ Leads collaboration among team and leverages data to identify pockets of opportunities to apply algorithms to improve a solution to a business problem. Consistently leverages knowledge of techniques to optimize analysis using algorithms. Modifies statistical analysis tools for evaluating Machine Learning models.
**Qualifications**
**Required/Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 6+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years of spares parts planning, inventory management, or supply chain management experience in a cloud-based technology business or similar industry.
+ 4+ years of experience in first- and third-party ERP/MPS/MRP systems and inventory control methods performing advanced planning

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 12+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Skills in Power BI and ability to modify and run SQL queries, proficient with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Demonstrated expertise in program management and process improvement methodologies; Lean/Six-Sigma training, 5S, Kaizen, Agile, Certified in Production and Inventory Management(CPIM)/Certified Supply Chain Professional(CSCP) certification preferred.
+ Comprehensive working knowledge of key Information Technology(IT) and service industry concepts and understanding of cloud infrastructure and datacenter issues such as physical space, rack units, break-fix requirements, and incident management.
+ Detail oriented, ability to communicate complex problems and solutions, drive to collaborate, a bias for action to close out problems, very comfortable working with numbers.
+ Experience managing Product Life Cycle. Process/system background and ability to rapidly understand and drive improvements in new processes/systems.
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with rapidly changing requirements, robust critical thinking skills and ability to drive resolution in ambiguous situations
Demand Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
