We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Demand Planner with 3 years of expertise in demand planning within a manufacturing environment. The Senior Demand Planner will be responsible for leading and optimizing the demand planning process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment between demand forecasts and production capabilities. This role will play a critical part in driving inventory optimization, improving forecast accuracy, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting & Planning:Lead the demand planning process, including the creation, maintenance, and analysis of demand forecasts at different levels (SKU, product family, etc.) to ensure alignment with business objectives. Utilize advanced forecasting tools and techniques to drive accuracy and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Production teams to gather insights and adjust demand forecasts based on new product launches, promotional activities, seasonal trends, and market intelligence. Facilitate regular communication and alignment between departments to ensure consistency in forecasting and production planning.Data Analysis & Reporting:
Leverage historical sales data, trends, and market conditions to develop accurate demand forecasts. Provide regular reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key insights, forecast accuracy, inventory trends, and areas for improvement.Inventory Management:
Work closely with the inventory management team to ensure optimal inventory levels, minimizing both stockouts and excess stock. Monitor inventory turnover and ensure alignment with demand forecasts.Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, tools enhancements, and best practices to streamline demand planning processes and improve forecast accuracy.Risk Management:
Proactively manage and mitigate risks related to demand fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and capacity constraints. Develop contingency plans and ensure agility in responding to market changes.Training & Development:
Mentor junior demand planning team members and support their professional development. Provide guidance on best practices and contribute to a high-performing team culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).3+ years of experience in demand planning or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.Strong experience with demand forecasting techniques, inventory management, and data analysis.Proficient in demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis) and advanced Excel functions.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across various teams.Knowledge of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and inventory control practices.Proven track record of successfully managing demand planning processes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Additional Skills:
APICS CPIM or similar supply chain certification is a plus.Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.Experience working with large datasets and advanced analytics tools is a plus.Watts in it for you:
