Job Description
We are the leading manufacturer in the world for juvenile products, founded in 1962. Our USA Technical Center for Child Safety in Columbus, Indiana, provides product support, developing and testing product lines for child restraint system (CSR) technology (car seats). Due to growth, we need to expand our New Product Development / R&D engineering team, and we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join this team. This engineer will collaborate with the US product development team to conceive, design, source, test, and produce products that meet Canadian regulations and launch simultaneously in Canada and the US. You will provide technical expertise and creative solutions while ensuring feasibility, and support product improvement projects in both CRS and non-CRS categories which may require quarterly travel to Canada.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Columbus, Indiana.
Work Environment
Onsite 1st shift Monday - Friday role (engineering typically is core business hours of 9 AM - 5 PM EST). Remote flexibility for life events post training period. You will spend 25% of your time within CAD modeling, 25% in product building with model shop and assembly work, 25% in testing/troubleshooting, and 25% on miscellaneous engineering project support. The company is a manufacturer of juvenile products (child restraint systems). You will support 6 Design Engineers within a team of 15 tied to New Product Development. Travel to Canada up to 6 times a year for testing projects. This is a fairly independent opportunity with room to grow and requires taking evening virtual calls monthly for offshore colleagues.
