About the role:
Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer position located in the Mossville, Illinois facility. In this role, you will be the Product Engineer for one or more Fuel Systems product families. The Reman Fuel Systems team is accountable for the overall quality and warranty of existing products, support of product and process salvage improvement projects to manage costs, and execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs introducing new product offerings for our dealers and customers.
Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:
Work with buyers and supplier contacts to development and improve supplier capabilities and performance, including warranty Joint Failure Analysis.Evaluate new component salvage projects / techniques. Develop and execute validation plans to ensure salvage projects meet quality and warranty goals.Responsible for understanding and tracking product warranty and watching for emerging trends or issues. Responsible for NPI of fuel system products and performs necessary print maintenance & releasing.Support production and quality issues for Reman Fuel System product built in Reman facilities.Skill Descriptors:

Product Design - MFG: Extensive knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.Product Design and Development: Extensive Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.Product Testing: Extensive Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.Experience in Fuel Systems design, development, and/or manufacturing.Experience with Advanced Failure Analysis & Joint Failure AnalysisExperience with interacting with internal partners and external suppliersAdditional Information:
Relocation assistance IS available for this role. The primary location for this role is Mossville, Illinois but can also be located in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. 15-20% will be required for this position.Posting Dates:
