This position reports to

Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create, modify, and analyze the design of equipment, systems, or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction. Each day, you will optimize designs to meet updated standards and incorporate new products, components, and functionalities. You will also showcase your expertise by applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tPower systems studies and control aspects (hardware and software) of high-power rectifier projects. It requires a good overall understanding of the entire electrical network and associated equipment.•\tDevelop the relevant engineering deliverables, such as, equipment purchases specifications, drawings, bill of material, electrical diagrams, test procedures, electrical studies and records.•\tCreating standard processes and tools to promote the reuse of technical solutions, innovation, and productivity in the design team.•\tParticipate in factory acceptance tests at vendors facilities.•\tThe position requires successful completion of assigned projects on time and within budgetary constraints, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience.Availability to travel in Canada and USA.Member of OIQ.Familiar with national codes and standards.Power system study tools experience (ETAP, Easy Power, Cyme, etc).E3 Zuken and/or AutoCAD experience is an asset.Software understanding and programming experience is an asset.Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and ABB personnel in English and French. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.Independent and proactive thinker.Possess a sense of urgency/drive for results.
