This position is responsible for providing design support to engineers with Transportation projects as well as mentor other technicians and designers.

Responsibilities Work from detailed sketches or off red-lines to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D/MicroStation Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names; line and character styles; drawings and file names for sheet layoutAnalyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervisionInform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when neededAssist in the development of other Technicians and Designers, as directed and neededMaintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team membersFlexible in work assignments and team assignments Qualifications Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design from an accredited institution of higher education10 years' experience in civil design with a focus in Transportation Extremely proficient in AutoCAD- Civil 3D/MicroStationEffective communications skills both oral and written skillsEffective interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, clients and public agency officialsSelf-starterAbility to work interdependently within a team environmentMust be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needsMust be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime
